"Special" Anime - 2 sided coin

-Special Note- There are some anime and manga that are too graphic for young viewers called Hentai or Eechi. We will still speak about it, but we would not release graphic pictures or any links to pages for this.

I would like to give my kudos to Critical Mass Video for the acquisitions some of the titles from Softcell such as F3, Dragon Pink, Rei Rei, and Magical Twilight. The English voice overs need to be spunk up just a little but the shows are digitally remastered, some extra outtakes and showing some of he artwork. There are still “special” anime from Softcell to be acquired like New Angel from U-jin, First Lovers and others titles.

On the other side of the coin, Nu-tech, “special” anime on double sided DVDs, has to get my blood boiling (and not in a good way, either). You have some of the good titles such as Immoral Sisters, D-vine Luv and Shusaku and having “special” voice actresses. The problem is the distribution of the DVD. Paying for a 30 min show, even with artwork and a few extras, the other side of the DVD is for their trailers of other anime.
It is time to stop this madness, one episode and 20 trailers come off it. Almost all of the series can fit onto one DVD and on the other side can be the trailers. Great stories but bad distribution.

Najica review + Wallpaper 14 - Najica

Najica Hiiragi, perfumer and secret agent, is sent out on a number of missions to recover rogue humaritts, androids with combat abilities. Najica is assigned a humaritt partner, Lila, whom Najica is to groom as an agent and receive assistance from along the way.

Mixing in Agent Aika and Gunsmith Cats, Najica is the next girl power series. There was so much action (and underwear shots), that I didn’t think twelve episodes would be enough.

Maybe a crossover series with Aika and Najica could be in the making? Then again, I was thinking in my own world. As I watched the series, I thought about this wallpaper, once again the cinema style is in play. The lip here was to be smudged, but instead, to put some holes in it and smear it a little.

Wallpaper 13 - Bloodberry

With the holiday passing, very humid condition and many projects I must finish, I could not get back on track. I would like to talk about Saber Marionette J, but I am not finished watching it completely. Right now I am leaving you with this wallpaper of Bloodberry, from Saber Marionette J series. Since doing Sakura wallpaper as a cinema style, it became my favorite way. I hope you enjoy it.

Ah and Oh My Goddess review + Wallpaper12 - Belldandy

This time I want to beat the odds by talking about Ah My Goddess, the TV series, Oh My Goddess, the OAV series and sharing this wallpaper as well.

I was overjoyed when they was talking about doing Ah My Goddess, even if it a little tardy to the anime population. I treasured the Oh My Goddess OAV series because of the story and animation. OMG started out as the manga, but deviated off the route and did a short condensed version. It was great, but it could’ve been greater. The animation was outstanding, voice acting was great, but the story was short.

Now with AMG, it follows the manga, with some extra content (we only half way through the series, so I am not jumping to any conclusion). The animation can not compare to the OAV, but it is decent for television, the voice acting is good, you don’t need to compare that to the OAV. It still have that OMG touch with the story added with some moments that you will not see in the original, such as Belldandy being angry.

Now the wallpaper was inspiration from watching the series. Bell in a wedding dress, I hoping I will be reading about that in the manga. The wedding manga will be compared to Peter Parker marrying Mary Jane, Cyclops marrying Phoenix. My opinion, words and my thoughts, do you feel different about this, drop me a comment here.

Angelic Layer Review 2 - Anime

Before I wrote about Angelic Layer, the manga I was reading. It was five short volumes but it something enjoyable to read. Now, I watched to anime and it was more than I bargained for. The animation was bright and colorful but the story follows the manga and has an alternate ending must close to the story. It added more to the story by giving more information on why people battling in the show.

This is something I can watch over and over again from Clamp, the creators of Magic Knight Rayearth, X and Tokyo Babylon. Please send me any comments on your experience from watching this or any other Clamp creations.

I just purchase Pretear, the complete DVD series and I still watching the show as we speak. While I was looking up some information, I was making the next wallpaper. This one is simple but I think I getting better.

Wallpaper 6 - Happy Lesson

This been a while since I have been on my blog, but it has been hard to get everything done all at once. For the time being I got a chance to do another wallpaper. This time is on Happy Lesson. I just picked up this DVD set a couple of weeks ago and I just can’t stop watching it. I’m still doing the research online for web sites and more information.

Angelic Layer Review 1 - Manga

When you hear of people playing with dolls, they may still have that old Barbie doll or their action figure that will not give up. Reading Angelic Layer this give a whole new reason for playing with dolls.
When misaki came to Tokyo to live with her aunt, she just discovered a new game called angelic layer. Astonish about the game, he proceeds to buy a doll called an angel. Confused about purchasing this new toy, she met a man in a lab coat named icchan. She went home and creates her new doll named hikaru and joined the national tournament.
This manga consisted of seven volumes and is good for all ages. I enjoyed every frame from beginning to end. This was created by Clamp, a group of ladies that created such mangas as x/1999, Cardcaptor Sakura, Magic Knight Rayearth and Chobits.
The characters was drawn to some detail in the story was fun to read. I never had so much fun reading these books and to enjoy it this much. I just can’t wait to see the video DVD. The animation from the box cover I seen looked like the character design from Cardcaptor Sakura. For Your information, Hikaru, Misaki’s angel is named after a character from Magic Knight Rayearth.
The story is funny, witty and easy to maneuver through the plot line. The only disappointed thing to me was the shortness of the story. This could have gone and made even more volumes, maybe about an extra five episodes.

Wallpaper 5 - Goddess Belldandy

I watched Oh (or Ah) My Goddess and it kinda inspired me to do this wallpaper. I watched the OAV series a long time ago and now it expanded to a series and a movie. It is too soon to write about the new series and movie, but I will write about the OAV series later on this blog. Right now, here is the wallpaper I just put together. My skills are no match for others who do this but I will keep trying to improve my skills.

Supertitious Sailor Moon?

I know some stuff about superstitions and bad luck such as a black cat crossing your path or to get a role playing Superman, even when you heard about their misfortunes. Now here is another taboo; Sailor Moon! That’s right; this series had to go through constant editing, story changes, characters’ misinformation, missing scenes and different distributors.

The story is about a girl who uses her locket to transform to fight the evil that plagues Earth with the help of her transformed friends called Sailor Scouts and her mysterious man in a tuxedo and a mask. From an evil queen to evil sailor scouts of the galaxies, it was easy to hide some of the content but there is some thing you could not explain to the kids.

I understand changing the character names makes it easier to remember their personality. Some part of the story they changed could make sense for the kids but, an anime fanatic or an experienced otaku can not be fooled. The scene that has my attention was the final confrontation between Queen Beryl and Sailor Moon, each of the sailor scouts were “captured” before the battle. The fact was the scouts were killed, not captured and before season two started, all the scouts are alive.
Relationships were changed as well; one was with malicite and zoycite. They had to shield the kids that this relationship was a man and a woman. This is incorrect, in the manga, they are both men. They put a woman voice for zoycite to presume everyone that this person is female. Another relationship is between Sailor Neptune and Uranus, which the anime claimed that they are “cousins”. This is a woman-woman love and it was covered up by making them cousins. Between Serina and Darien, this consists on their age difference. Serina is a junior high school girl and Daren looks like he is in college. It started out as a crush but they let slide.

The transformation transition was covered up by masking it with sparkles until their gear has been placed. I don’t think they could explain anything in Sailor Moon Stars, where as three guys in their class, who are singers called Three Lights, can transform into Sailor Scouts. Boys 2 Men transforms into Destiny Child? How are they going to explain that!

To any distributors out there, this is your chance to finish the saga once and for all. Buena Vista, ADV and Pioneer will not finish it. What about Funimation, Media Blasters or Urban Vision?

Wallpaper 4 - Ai Amano

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I took a hiatus from my blog for a few days and I still working on something right now. While I was doing this, I found one of my old wallpaper I had done for a friend and I would like to share it with you.

When I done this wallpaper of Ai Amano, I just experimenting using different Photoshop pallets when I pick this one. Feel free to give me comments.
